After dominating the Serie A for most of the season and building an 11 point lead by February, Inter stumbled and then almost crashed before pulling out its third straight title Sunday with a 2-0 win over Parma in the last game of the season.
Last year it was Materazzi that made the 2 winning goals, but this year it was Zlatan Ibrahimovic or as the Interisti like to call him "Ibramacadabra". He scored 2 goals in the second half to clinch the Scudetto.
I know my beautiful Italian must be thrilled out of his mind right now. He was so nervous when we spoke on the phone yesterday that when I asked him where he was going to watch the game, his reply was, "I don't want to talk about it. I'm scaramantico!" (scaramantico meaning superstitious) Not wanting to jinx the game, he preferred to stay silent. I'm not so superstitious, so I just had a good laugh about it. Of course, I have to support my Italians team, so I woke up bright and early Sunday morning to watch the match on the Fox Soccer Channel. I think I was more nervous about my Italian being upset than what was actually happening on the pitch. I'm just so glad they won and my baby is happy. A great win on a beautiful Sunday in Portland (it wasn't so beautiful in Parma. It was pooring down rain!)
FORZA INTER!! MILANO SIAMO NOI!!

I have to admit this season has been really good (even though my Juventus finished in third). There have been some really good games this year! :) Next up...Euro Cup!!!
Hello Lu,
Yes, it's been really exciting, although nerve-wracking to watch! The Euro Cup should be good. I can't wait for the World Cup!
